Setting Up Wifi

Using How to Edimax EW-7811

$ sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces

Interfaces file looks like this. Commented out three lines and added the third lines at the bottom. auto lo

iface lo inet loopback iface eth0 inet dhcp

allow-hotplug wlan0

  1. iface wlan0 inet manual
  2. wpa-roam /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
  3. iface default inet dhcp

iface wlan0 inet dhcp wpa-ssid <YOUR SSID> wpa-psk <YOUR PASSPHRASE/KEY>


[CTRL] + [X] to save and exit nano

either reboot the Pi or just reboot the adapter

$ sudo ifdown wlan0; sudo ifup wlan0
